Why Not Stay A While?

Our events are all ran out of Clennell Hall Country House which means we have the capacity to offer top accommodation for you and your family if they would like to stay.  There are other bed & breakfast options available in the area and because one of our our key aims is to keep the cost down as much as possible we offer free event camping but only if you’ve let us know in advance.

Events From Clennell

Find out where you can stay if you’re coming to our Clennell Trail Marathon/10 Mile run or Clennell Colossus MTB Challenge.

Clennell Hall

Clennell Hall Country House

This is our base and with good reason.  An outstanding country house with a friendly atmosphere it is not only a hotel but has a restaurant and a warm pub with a real wood fire.  Drinks and food are available all day.  There is a popular bunk house as cheap and warm option and good bike facilities.

To see if they have rooms available you can ring them direct on 01669 650377, email to info@clennellhallcountryhouse.com, and see their website at http://www.clennellhallcountryhouse.com.

Free Camping

We can provide camping on the grounds of Clennell Hall with the option of having adjacent fields if needed.  The best bit about this is that it is FREE which is in keeping with our low cost approach to make this area as accessible as possible to all comers.  This happens for many events and we can cater for caravans or tents but remember this is not a dedicated campsite so you will need to be self sufficient.  There are toilets open to use externally on the grounds and also those inside the hotel.  Bring yourself, bring a friend or bring your family and make a weekend of it.Bring the kidsFree Camping

If you are camping for any of our events then please let us know in advance so we can plan how much space is needed in co-ordination with parking and farming.

A point to note is that we organise camping on the Clennell Hall grounds and not the private campsite next door.  You will receive details via email in advance of the event.

The Deer Hut and The Camping Barn

These two buildings at Barrowburn are very popular so you would need to be very fast or very lucky to get yourself booked into here.  Both the Clennell Colossus and the Clennell Trail Marathon pass this way so if you have family staying they can give you a wave whilst they sit next to a nice cosy fire.  Owners Ian and Eunice are some of the nicest people around and even if you can’t get yourself booked in to their accommodation you should go down to the cafe and try some scrumptious home cooking.

The Rose & Thistle Inn

Set in the heart of Alwinton this inn has a restaurant/bar as well as various rooms and accommodation options.  Set only a mile away from the event location it is an ideal choice for anyone looking to stay the night before.  Friendly staff and a good choice of food put you in the right frame of mind before you turn yourself in for the night.

Events At Ingram

The Breamish Behemoth sets out from Ingram village hall and traverses all the way across to Barrowburn and even into Scotland before coming back to Ingram.  There are some great places to stay in and around the event and even free camping on offer.

Ingram is on the Eastern edge of the Cheviots and some 17 miles from Alwinton.  It’s an hours drive should you fancy staying somewhere away from the madness of Clennell.

Free Camping

As with the Clennell Events we do offer free camping here as well.  This is on the Ingram show ground right opposite the village hall.  Flat as a pancake and the perfect place to get a good nights sleep before heading out into the hills.  This is not a commercial website but rather just a field that’s open for the weekend and you’ll need to be a self sufficient as possible.  There will be toilets and running water available.  Behind the village hall you will find the Valley Cafe which is full of food and drinks to keep you going.
